India's Budget: New Delhi reveals budget for financial year 2018-19

India has unveiled its budget for the financial year starting April 1st. Finance Minister Arun Jaitley presented the budget in parliament Thursday. This is Prime Minister Narendra Modi government's last fully-fledged budget before the 2019 general elections.
Jaitley said the government plans to spend over 2-hundred-and-twenty billion US dollars on rural infrastructure. The minister said an Agri-Market Development Fund will be set up, focusing on increasing farmers' incomes . Healthwise, Jaitley announced a national scheme covering 100 million poor families. It would be the world's largest government-funded health program. The Minister also said India is firmly on path to achieve GDP growth of 8 percent plus soon.
