The 92-year-old owner, Liang Fusheng, lost his three children and wife long ago and now lives on his own, sleeping in a coffin every night. /VCG Photo

He started building the stone mausoleum in the 1990s, spending over 260,000 yuan (38,000 US dollars). The mausoleum is covered in wires, protected by five security doors and filled with fatal gimmicks. Liang says he doesn’t want anybody to barge in on him or worry about burying him after he passes away. /VCG Photo

A respected doctor, he still works despite his own declining health. A few years ago, he even hosted a banquet to bid farewell to local villagers in preparation forhis death one day. /VCG Photo
