German police have detained a suspect in a knife attack that lightly injured eight people on Saturday in the southern city of Munich.

The suspect was caught traveling by bicycle a few kilometers south of where the attacks happened. According to the Deutsche Press Agency, the suspect is a 33-year-old German, registered in Munich. Police said there was no evidence of a terrorist or religious motive and the man was probably mentally ill.
