Premier Li Keqiang has met with his Vietnamese, Thai and Lao counterparts, on the sidelines of the second Lancang-Mekong meeting.
Li told Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc that President Xi Jinping's November visit to Vietnam opened a new chapter in bilateral relations. Nguyen in turn said Vietnam is willing to enhance bilateral cooperation in areas like economy and trade.
To Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha, Li said the construction of China-Thailand high-speed railway marks a milestone in bilateral cooperation. He said Beijing hopes to synergize its Belt and Road Initiative with Thailand's Eastern Economic Corridor construction. And, when meeting with Lao Prime Minister Thongloun Sisoulith, Premier Li said the two countries should focus on the Belt and Road Initiative and the China-Laos economic corridor.
