The State Supreme Science and Technology Award of China is the highest national honor in its field. It's considered China's Nobel Prize. There are no more than two winners each year. Let's meet the 2 distinguished scientists for 2017.
82-year-old Wang Zeshan from the Nanjing University of Science and Technology, is an expert in explosives. 89-year-old Hou Yunde specializes in molecular virology and genetic engineering. President Xi Jinping presented the certificates at Great Hall of the People this morning. Since the awards were established in 2000, 29 scientists have been recognized for their achievements.
