Kontinental Hockey League: Amur Khabarovsk 2 - Kunlun Red Star 1
[]
Over to the ice, where changes have hit Kunlun Red Star. The only Chinese-based team in Russia's KHL have relieved coach Mike Keenan of his head coaching duties. This comes days after he was let go as General Manager. He will remain with the team in an advisory role. Taking over behind the bench for Iron Mike is Bobby Carpenter, and he would be overseeing things as Kunlun travelled to face Amur Khabarovsk.
The home team open the scoring late in the opening stanza as Vladislav Ushenin wires one top corner.
Red Star answer a couple minutes later as Roman Graborenko nets first goal for the club as his shot goes through a screen.
The hosts are able to go back in front in the second on a powerplay -- as Alexei Byvaltsev sets up Jan Kolar to fire one home. That proves to the winner, as Kunlun now sit 11th in the Eastern conference standings, 13-points behind the final playoff spot.
