Haitians in the US city of Miami have criticized President Trump's reportedly vulgar comments on their country.

The denouncement was made during a march to commemorate the eighth anniversary of a deadly earthquake that struck Haiti in 2010. Marleine Bastien, executive director of Haitian Women of Miami, said Haiti is the first black republic and a proud nation. She said people from the country that Trump reportedly insulted helped fight for the independence of the US. Trump's controversial remarks have also triggered a strong backlash in Africa.
