After more than a month in quarantine, giant panda Nuan Nuan has made her public debut in her new habitat in southwestern China's Sichuan Province. The two-year-old was born and reared in the National Zoo of Malaysia, before being sent home. She will now be granted an ID card – the first ever for a giant panda. Considered ambassadors of friendship, more and more giant pandas are being leased overseas for scientific research purposes. Cubs born overseas must be sent to China around their second birthday.
