The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) has urged Seoul to cancel the deployment of the THAAD missile defense system.
The country's state news agency KCNA quoted an official from the National Peace Committee of Korea as saying people in the Republic of Korea (ROK) are increasingly demanding the cancellation. It also slammed conservatives in the neighboring country for defending the installation of the US battery, and criticized the new ROK government for its ambivalent approach.
Meanwhile, the DPRK’s leader Kim Jong Un supervised the test-firing of a new anti-aircraft weapon system. KCNA said he ordered its mass production and deployment throughout the country.
