Chinese Premier Li Keqiang and other senior Chinese leaders on Friday met separately with visiting Vietnamese President Tran Dai Quang, pledging to boost bilateral "comradely and brotherly" ties.

Chinese President Xi Jinping held a fruitful meeting with President Quang on Thursday, said Premier Li. He added China is willing to advance further cooperation through the Belt and Road Initiative, as well as Vietnam's "Two Corridors and One Economic Circle" plan.
Premier Li said both sides can also enhance cooperation under the China-ASEAN, Lantsang-Mekong frameworks, and thus promote peace and prosperity on the border of the two countries and in the region.

Quang noted Vietnam-China ties enjoy good momentum which is in the interests of both peoples. He added Vietnam is willing to promote bilateral trade and investment, agriculture, infrastructure, people-to-people exchanges and close cooperation at local levels.

Zhang Dejiang, chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, Yu Zhengsheng, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), and Liu Yunshan, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee also met with Quang.
Zhang said in his meeting with Quang that China-Vietnam relations have shown positive signs as the two countries are committed to long-term friendship. Quang said Vietnam is willing to consolidate the Vietnam-China comradely and brotherly friendship to ensure healthy, stable and lasting bilateral relations.
Yu said in his meeting with Quang that China and Vietnam are good neighbors, have the same political system, face common development challenges and have positive cooperation prospects. He said the two countries should seize the opportunity of building the Belt and Road Initiative to expand bilateral cooperation. He said the CPPCC will continue to work closely with the Vietnam Fatherland Front to share ideas on political consultation and promote people-to-people exchanges.
Liu said in his meeting with Quang that China and Vietnam have a shared future and the two countries should help each other through good and bad times.
Quang is on a state visit to China from May 11 to 15, and will attend the upcoming Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, scheduled for May 14 to 15 in Beijing.
