It’s now the molting period for peacocks, and recently breeders from central China’s Hubei Province have been using the discarded feathers to make some amazing fans. /VCG Photo

Molting occurs every year from September to April, and the peacock breeders collect the shimmering tail feathers tipped with stunning eye-shaped spots to make fans, usually matched with handles made of sandalwood. /VCG Photo

Their largest fan consists of a total of 320 feathers with a length of 1.8 meters. It is valued at 1,680 yuan (244 US dollars). /VCG Photo
