Saudi Arabia continues to deliver aid to Yemen, despite being at war with Houthi rebels in the war-torn country.
Riyadh says it has given nearly a billion US dollars in aid to Yemen, and plans to spend another 1.5 billion with its coalition partners. The internationally recognised Yemeni government is backed by the Saudi-led coalition in the civil war against the Houthis, which has been going on for nearly three years. The coalition has imposed a blockade on ports under Houthi control, pushing the country into near starvation. Riyadh says aid is also delivered to rebel-held areas, through neutral international organizations.
