China Nanhai Buddhism Academy: World's only institute with three divisions of Buddhism opens

China's Nanhai Buddhism Academy has been established in the west of Sanya, in the southernmost province of Hainan.
It's the only institute of higher education in the world offering instruction in Han-Chinese Buddhism, Tibetan Buddhism and Southern Buddhism.
The three languages of instruction are Chinese, Tibetan, and Pali. The first class of students numbers 227. They will receive a bachelor's degree after four years of study.
At the opening ceremony, the founder Master Yin Shun stressed the Nanhai Buddhism Academy will commit to exporting the culture of the Chinese-style Buddhist institute to the world.
