The Spring Festival Travel rush begins on Thursday and will last until March 12th. Authorities expect 2-point-98 billion trips to take place during those over 40 days.

Because of the late festival date this year, there will be over-lapping passenger flows of family visitors, tourists, students, and migrant workers. 100 million journeys are estimated for the maximum daily peak. Over 3-thousand 5-hundred pairs of trains, 840 thousand long-distance buses, 20 thousand boats and 11 thousand flights are scheduled for the first day. Over 193 thousand buses will commute between railway stations.
