Korean Peninsula Tensions: US nuclear envoy says Washington wants 'credible dialogue' with DPRK

Washington's top nuclear envoy Joseph Yun says the US wants to open dialogue with the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, with the goal being the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula. After meeting with South Korean Vice Unification Minister Chun Hae-sung, Yun said he sees resumed inter-Korean talks and easing tensions as an opportunity for denuclearization efforts. This follows the DPRK's decision to take part in the upcoming Winter Games. On Thursday, Yun said he did not think the Trump administration is close to triggering military action.
