Fancy riding your luggage to the airport? In central China’s Xi'an city in Shaanxi Province, 71-year-old Wang Jimin spent three years inventing a 3-in-1 handmade hybrid suitcase that can transform into a trolley or a scooter that is fully operational on the road. /Chinese Business View Photo

The suitcase measures 78 centimeters in length, 33 centimeters in width and 60 centimeters in height. Covered in camo paint and black leather, the suitcase was made out of iron and weighs 30 kilograms. /Chinese Business View Photo

When fully unfolded, the luggage scooter can be equipped with handlebars, pedals, turn signals, front and rear lamps and functional wheels. The electric engine hidden at the bottom is powered by 10 kilograms of traditional dry cell batteries. /Chinese Business View Photo

Wang has applied for a trademark for his “luggage type electric scooter” and the scooter’s debut on April 29 attracted a curious crowd who tried the scooter, with some showing intentions to buy. /Chinese Business View Photo

Currently, there are foldable electric scooters and hybrid kickboard luggage items on the market, but nothing similar to Wang’s invention. Wang plans to improve the scooter with lighter materials so that people can bring the hybrid luggage aboard. /Chinese Business View Photo
