THAAD Deployment: South Korea: No expansion of anti-missile system

South Korea's Foreign Minister Kang Kyung-wha says there would be no expansion of the THAAD anti-missile system or a deeper participation in a US defense program.

Kang made the statement Monday when addressing the country's National Assembly, adding that her country will develop its own defense system. South Korea and the US agreed to deploy the THAAD missile defense system on the peninsula in July 2016, and the program started in March 2017. The move aroused concerns from neighboring countries, including China and Russia.
