China's second comprehensive scientific expedition to the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, which focuses on the source of the country's major rivers, entered a critical period on Wednesday as scientists reached the two main sites. The first is Geladaindong, which lies in the middle of the Tanggula Mountain Range at an altitude of 6,621 meters above sea level, and another is the Serling Tso, the largest lake in Tibet. The expedition, which started on June 17, will study the climate changes, biodiversity and environment in the areas over the past decades.
