Hong Kong has the most spectacular skyline in the world, but as CGTN Digital discovered, the views are even more impressive and dramatic from the waters of Victoria Harbour.

Lying in the middle of the territory's dense urban region, the busy harbor hosts the famous Star Ferry, transporting commuters and tourists alike between Kowloon and Hong Kong Island, and onto the array of smaller islands nearby.

The deep waters of the harbor played an important part in Hong Kong transformation as a major trading center. The fruits of the port’s success can be seen today as some of Asia’s tallest buildings climb up from its shores against a backdrop of lush, green mountains.

This year, people will be amazed yet again as Victoria Harbour becomes the venue for a 1,250-meter-long "super fireworks wall" to light up the sky on July 1 in celebration of Hong Kong's 20th handover anniversary.
