Maslenitsa is a traditional Russian festival that involves eating pancakes and is also known as “Pancake Week”. The golden pancakes represent the sun and the coming of spring. People also build and burn scarecrows to pray for good luck in the new year. This year, some innovators have given the celebration a new form: they have been using 3D printers to make special Maslenitsa pancakes, called “Blini” in Russian.
