The remaining directors of USA Gymnastics will resign following revelations the former national team doctor sexually abused female athletes. The doctor, Larry Nassar, was handed an effective life prison sentence this week. The United States Olympic Committee had threatened to strip the group's power of running the sport if the remaining 16 directors did not resign by Wednesday. Five had already resigned as a result of this scandal. USA Gymnastics indicated in an email it will comply with the USOC requirements. The House of Representatives, Senate and Department of Education joined the USOC in opening broad investigations into possible sex abuse in sports this week.
