King Abdullah II of Jordan has reaffirmed his country’s commitment to an independent Palestinian state.
"There is no peace or stability in the region without a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian cause through a two-state solution,” said Abdullah at this year’s Arab League summit in Jordan’s capital Amman.
Leaders at the summit plan to adopt a number of resolutions on regional issues, including several dealing with the Palestinian issue. UN chief Antonio Guterres says fighting terrorism is essential, and "any success will prove ephemeral" without a political solution to Syria's civil war.
The European Union is also represented at this year's roundtable talks by Federica Mogherini, the EU foreign policy chief.
