The Bhabha Atomic Research Center in India has developed a portable electro-cardiograph machine (ECG) that can help doctors conduct remote examinations, with results transmitted directly to their smartphones.
One of these tiny devices can carry out 300 examinations before it needs to be recharged.
Developers say this kind of ECG machine can be used in rural areas where many people die from heart attacks due to a lack of timely diagnosis.
Authorities estimate that around 2 million people die of heart attacks in India every year.
