‍More than 100 trains have been suspended as heavy downpour flooded a tunnel on a key railway line through central China, Xinhua News Agency reported citing railway authorities.

As of 10 a.m. local time on Thursday, a total of 104 trains passing through the central provinces of Hunan and Hubei had been temporarily halted after the Liuyanghe Tunnel, along the high speed railway between Beijing and Guangzhou, was flooded early in the day.

The tunnel has been closed and maintenance crews are pumping out the floodwater.

Railway passengers were reminded by railway authorities to stay up to date with information regarding the suspension.
