An exhibition entitled ".Zip Future of Today " has opened in the Future Gallery of Today Art Museum in Beijing.

Artists have made use of science and technology to reshape the face of art, providing visitors with vocal and visual feasts that give them deep interactive experiences.

Cross-media interaction, artistic processing of information and virtual worlds overlap with reality, all showing that the future is not just something to be researched or anticipated, but can be explored and perceived by everyone with passion and imagination.

"The exhibition is trying to offer the audience a brand new experience with various expression formats of art, like the senses of sight, hearing, touch, smell and even taste," said curator Wu Juehui.

The theme ".zip" refers to an unzipping process leading to every possibility in the future.

Specifically-designed layouts guide the audience and immerse them in different imaginary times and spaces, just like extracting zipped documents.

The museum underwent major renovations in order to accommodate 27 art works, most of which require large open spaces for video displays and light project equipment.

The exhibition runs for three months until September 16.
