Korean Peninsula Tension: Envoys from S. Korea and Japan meet ahead of inter-Korean talks
[]
South Korea and the DPRK are getting ready for face-to-face, ice-breaking talks for the first time in more than two years. Just one day before meeting at the truce village of Panmunjom, the top nuclear envoys of South Korea and Japan have met in Seoul to discuss the DPRK's nuclear program. The Panmunjom meeting will discuss the DPRK's participation in the PyeongChang Winter Olympic Games. Pyongyang has given Seoul a five-man list of its delegation, led by Ri Son Gwon, the country's point man on inter-Korean affairs. He's the chairman of the DPRK's Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of Korea.
