English League Cup: Manchester City 3 - Bristol City 2
[]
Over in England, Manchester City traveled to face second tier Bristol City for the second leg of their League Cup semifinal. A late Sergio Aguero goal two weeks ago at the Etihad gave the Citizens a two-one advantage going into the return game. And while the Premier League leaders were firm favorites to advance, the Robins had shown in the first 90 minutes they are more than capable of springing a surprise.
Man City take the lead two minutes before the break. An error from Hodur Magnusson lets in Leroy Sane for an easy finish.
Four minutes after the break, Aguero doubles the visitors' advantage after finishing off a swift counter-attack before Marlon Pack pulls one back for the Bristolians.
Aden Flint adds a second for the Championship club from close range in stoppage time to set up a nervous final moment for Pep's boys.
But Kevin de Bruyne destroys all hope of a comeback seconds later with a powerful strike for the Belgium's ninth goal of the season in all competitions.
Manchester City run out 3-2 winners, 5-3 on aggregate, to reach a fourth domestic cup final in the past six years.
