In the coming year of 2018, China will be hosting several global events and looking at new perspectives for its bilateral relations with the US and neighbouring countries. Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi earlier talked to media about the foreign affairs outlook for 2018.
WANG YI CHINESE FOREIGN MINISTER "We will do our best to host four diplomatic events--the Boao Forum for Asia, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit, the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, and the China International Import Expo. These are to open a new chapter of win-win cooperation between China and the world.
We will put the development of China-US relations on a healthy track, we will maintain high-level strategic coordination partnership with Russia, and we will consolidate the sound momentum of China-EU relations. We are to build a stable and balanced relations structure.
We will deepen our friendships with our neighbors, and push hotspot issues such as the Korean Peninsula tensions and Afghanistan issue towards a political solution. We are actively building a community of shared future. We will promote side by side our relations with Africa, Latin America and the Arab world, and refine relations with developing countries."
