China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) held a press conference at the media center for the fifth Session of the 12th National People's Congress (NPC) in Beijing.‍
Minister Miao Wei, Vice Minister Xin Guobin, as well as Zhang Feng, chief engineer of MIIT, took questions from journalists on "Made in China 2025."

On international cooperation: 

China opposes "reverse globalization" and protectionism, and calls for more bilateral and multilateral cooperation with other countries, said Miao.
He highlighted the cooperation between China and Germany, based on Germany's “Industry 4.0” and the “Made in China 2025” strategies, that has made “positive progress” in many fields. 
The “Made in China 2025” strategy applies to all enterprises in China, including both domestic-funded and foreign-funded enterprises, stressed Miao. ‍

On mobile roaming charges and long distance fees:

The authorities have paid close attention to the cancellation of domestic long-distance and roaming charges, which is scheduled to take effect from October 1, said Miao.
The minister also promised to speed up the process, with efforts made to reach the goal ahead of schedule. 

On robotics industry:

The scale of China’s robotics industry is expanding, with the 72,000-plus sets produced in 2016 marking a 34.3 percent annual increase from 2015, Vice Minister Xin Guobin told journalists during the press conference. 
Xin also detailed the achievements China has made in this industry, including developed technologies, expanded application areas, improved enterprise competitiveness and strengthened international cooperation. ‍
