Data published Monday says over 15 thousand people were shot dead across the United States in 2017. The figures from tracking website Gun Violence Archive also include over 61-thousand shooting incidents and more than 31-thousand woundings. Among the dead and injured, nearly four thousand were aged under 17. The website collects and validates gun violence and crime incidents from 25-hundred sources daily. It excludes the about 22 thousand annual suicides related to firearms.
