Saudi Arabia has allowed women to enter a football stadium for the first time to watch a match. At a Jeddah stadium on Friday, women sat in a special family section as the two teams al-Ahli and al-Batin faced each other. The conservative Muslim kingdom is known for imposing harsh restrictions on women. The decision to allow women to watch public sporting events is one of several changes to ease social rules. Other measures include lifting a ban on women driving and reopening some cinemas.
