The first rain of spring arrived in Beijing on Wednesday evening, amid a cold snap that saw parts of the Great Wall in Yanqing district to the northwest of the city covered in heavy snow. Many local residents ventured out to take photos. 

According to Beijing's weather observatory, the rain will stop on Friday afternoon. The rainfall has brought temperatures down to as low as zero degrees Celsius. On Saturday, the city is expected to warm up to a pleasant 10 degrees Celsius.
