On Thursday, a young man, surnamed Li, completed his mission as a polar bear feeder. /CFP Photo
He is part of a project recently launched by an ocean park in Wuhan, central China’s Hubei Province, which gives visitors a chance to go behind the scenes and take care of polar bears for three hours a day. /CFP
While the experience is definitely rewarding, it does come with a price tag. The park charges 1,000 yuan (145 US dollars) per person and the quota is limited to one volunteer each week. /CFP Photo
The feeder is responsible for cleaning polar bears’ living areas, feeding them and cleaning after them. /CFP Photo
Participants also need to undergo medical checkups and receive orientation before they officially start their journey with polar bears. /CFP Photo
Li enjoyed his time with the animals, saying he learned a lot about these creatures. /CFP Photo
