China's national observatory has raised its orange alert for frozen roads in the country's western Tibet Autonomous Region. 

A snowstorm and frigid temperatures have led to road and highway closures. A blizzard swept the Xigaze, Ali and Shannan areas on Friday and Saturday, with snow drifts of 30 to 50 centimeters deep in the urban areas of several counties in Xigaze.
