Xiao Yun (not her real name) says she does not lose weight, despite watching her diet and consuming fewer calories each meal.
She began to pack extra kilos after giving birth to her child over 10 years ago.
However, Xiao Yun is not alone in the struggle. She is one of 46 million obese women in China, according to a recent study published in medical journal, The Lancet.
The study, which found that China is also home to 43 million obese men, said there are now more adults in the world being classified as obese than underweight.

The Asian country has the highest number of obese people, overtaking the US.
The findings prompted Dr. Bernhard Schwartlander, the World Health Organization chief in China, to call for people to lead a healthy lifestyle.
Indeed, for health (and beauty) concerns, some are turning to doctors for help.

Xiao Yun finally decided to seek professional advice after developing bad sleeping patterns and health issues due to her weight.
She went to an obesity clinic, which opens once a week, and accepts only ten patients each session. Doctor Yuan said her clinic has seen an increased flow of patients in recent years, noting that the average age of patients is 38 years old, most of them women.
