A seminar on "Building a Community of Common Destiny and Global Human Rights Governance" was held on Thursday in Tianjin Municipality neighboring Beijing. Over 50 scholars from around China discussed ways to improve human rights in the context of a "community of common destiny."
The panel hailed Chinese proposals to improve the stagnant global economy, saying the idea of building communities of common destiny could also help people around the world tackle global human rights challenges. The seminar also calls for equality, as the age of economic globalization and technological innovation brings the world as a community, in which one's destiny is closely linked to that of another.
Chinese philosophers 2,000 years ago had imagined a world where people live in perfect harmony, and love strangers as if they were their own family members. In this sense, the concept of a community of common destiny overcomes all sorts of differences in human society and targets the greatest possible benefits for every human being.
