President Donald Trump's son-in-law and senior White House adviser, Jared Kushner, delivered an 11-page statement on Monday to two congressional committees, saying he did not collude with Russia or seek back channels with Moscow in 2016.

The statement was released before his appearance in closed-door meetings with members of the US Congress.

Kushner said he had four contacts with Russian representatives during the 2016 campaign and presidential transition period after Trump's victory. 

He denied any collusion to help his father-in-law win the presidential election.

Kushner is testifying before the Senate intelligence committee on Monday and a House panel on Tuesday.
