Now for a look at China's economy. China's services sector activity expanded at its fastest pace in over three years in December. The Caixin Markit PMI for December came in on Thursday at 53.9, up 2 points from November. That is the highest reading since August 2014. The increase reflected solid growth in new business as demand rises. It also shows services providers were able to pass through higher input costs to clients. The services sector accounts for over half of China's economy. And the government is counting on growth in services and consumption to rebalance economic expansion from its heavy reliance on investment and exports.
