The row between Qatar and the United Arab Emirates deepens. The official UAE news agency on Monday reported Qatari military jets intercepted a UAE passenger plane in the capital Bahrain -- a claim which Qatar denies.
Qatari Foreign Ministry's spokesperson Lulwa Al Khater said on Twitter that the claims are completely false. The UAE authority regards this incident "as a serious and renewed breach of international conventions and the safety of civil aircraft traffic". This comes after Qatar filed two complaints on Friday and Sunday to the United Nations about the violation of its airspace in December and January by a UAE fighter jet.
