The meeting comes amid continuing efforts against corruption in China. On January 8th, the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection said China will establish a national supervision commission and push for an anti-corruption law. Both are part of efforts to reform the state supervisory system. China began to test the system of supervisory commissions in Beijing, Shanxi and Zhejiang in 2016. Provincial, municipal and county-level bodies were set up. A draft of the National Supervision Law was published for public review in last November. It received 13-thousand suggestions in one month.
