The Chinese navy launched a new-generation missile destroyer on Wednesday from the Jiangnan Shipyard (Group) Co., LTD. in Shanghai.

The 10,000-ton domestically designed and manufactured vessel is the first in a new generation of destroyers. 

It is equipped with new air defense, anti-missile, anti-ship and anti-submarine weaponry.

The new destroyer will conduct serial equipment debugging and a sailing test.
