And next, we make a sweet escape to Kenya. Imagine for a moment you're trapped in a room -- and had to solve puzzles to get out. Not the most pleasant thought when it comes to real life. But when it's all in the name of fun, it's a different matter entirely. CGTN's Vik Chege explains.
This is called an escape room. A gaming trend that's been making its way across the world - and can now be found in Nairobi. You go in, the door shuts. You only have your wits to get out - and some all-important clues. It's a game of strategy. But you don't have all day - so you better hurry up.
PAM GORDON DIRECTOR, ESCAPE ROOM KENYA Each room is themed in a very specific way. Our art gallery, you walk in, it looks like a real gallery. You've got the artwork of real Kenyan artists on the wall. Our jail house is a bit dark, a bit cold, stone walls. It feels like a jail house so a lot of effort has gone into our design.
Themes are only a part of the experience. You also get a little bit of history thrown in.
PAM GORDON DIRECTOR, ESCAPE ROOM KENYA You really have to make people forget about what's outside. So they really focus on what's inside and everything in the room is contextual, so our jail house is designed for the year 1971. So all the props in that room, all the gadgets you might find are from that sort of era.
Luckily you don't have to go it alone - it's all about group fun. PAM GORDON DIRECTOR, ESCAPE ROOM KENYA. We specifically designed our rooms to be inclusive. We wanted to be able to have people of all abilities so young, old; we have a lot a lot of kids playing our game. We have people coming for their 50th birthday party, their 60th birthday party and then we just have young adults who might come for a wedding party or some team building.
And have no fear - if you're stuck, there's always someone watching. VIK CHEGE NAIROBI, KENYA There's three rooms, the secret gallery, the inventors workshop, and the jail house.
And the only thing there is to worry about is the answer to the question - can you escape the escape room. So move quickly, move smart and unlock the mysteries of the rooms. At the end, you'll be left with a sense of your intellect - and of course, a memento. Vik Chege, CGTN, Nairobi, Kenya.
