Cold China: January freeze impacting much of the country

Early January is usually the coldest period of the year in China, and 2018 seems to be no different.
Authorities say the country's central and eastern regions will see sharp temperature drops over the coming days, especially areas south of the Yellow River, with Henan and Anhui provinces likely to see temperatures drop to as low as minus-14 degrees Celsius. A thaw is expected in these areas over the weekend.
