British Prime Minister Theresa May welcomed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at 10 Downing Street on Monday. The two leaders said they were looking to deepen Britain-Israel ties, as well as discuss security issues in the Middle East.
"We remain committed to a two-state solution as the best way of building stability and peace and prosperity for the future," May told Netanyahu.

The Israeli prime minister said in his opening remarks at the start of their meeting that he wanted to discuss Iran.
"Iran seeks to annihilate us, it says so openly. It seeks to conquer the Middle East. It threatens Europe, it threatens the West, it threatens the world,” Netanyahu said.
"It offers provocation after provocation, that is why I welcome President Trump's insistence on sanctions against Iran, I think other nations should follow suit, certainly responsible nations," Netanyahu said. “And I'd like to talk to you about how we can ensure that Iran's aggression does not go unanswered."

Ahead of the meeting, Jeremy Corbyn, leader of the opposition Labour Party, called on May to tell Netanyahu that building settlements on occupied Palestinian land undermines trust.
"Of course I would expect the Middle East peace process to come up, and in that context the PM to reiterate our long-standing position ... that we see the continued increase in settlement activity undermining trust," one of May's spokeswoman told reporters ahead of their meeting.
An official communique is expected to be released after the private talks at Number 10 have finished.
Later on Monday, Netanyahu will meet British Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson.
