Muslim candidate Anies Baswedan wins Jakarta election

Muslim candidate Anies Baswedan on Wednesday emerged as the likely winner in the gubernatorial race for the Indonesian capital Jakarta.
An unofficial ballot count showed the former education minister won with 58 percent of the vote. Jakarta's incumbent governor, Christian candidate Basuki Tjahaja Purnama, finished with 42 percent.
Purnama currently faces blasphemy charges in court over comments he made about the Quran last year. The election was seen by many as a barometer for ethnic and religious tolerance in Indonesia, a largely Muslim nation.
The national elections commission will announce official results in early May.
