We begin in the Russian Black Sea resort of Sochi, where over 1,500 delegates have been invited for talks on Syria.
Over the next two days, they'll be discussing the formulation of a new constitution, presidential elections and rebuilding after the war. The UN special envoy to Syria is attending the conference and expected to head a constitutional commission. The opposition High Negotiations Committee will not attend. The main Syrian Kurdish groups are also boycotting the event because of the ongoing Turkish attack on Afrin. The talks are co-sponsored by Turkey and Iran.
