Maldives Clashes: Police fire tear gas as opposition supporters gather in capital Male

Clashes have erupted in the Maldives between police and protesters. The unrest came as supporters of former President Mohamed Nasheed took to the streets hailing a Supreme Court ruling to release him and other opposition leaders. Police reportedly fired tear gas at demonstrators gathered in the capital. Defense Minister Adam Shareef has urged for restraint.
