China claimed a gold medal in the men's 5,000m relay short track speed skating competition at the Asian Winter Games in Japan on Wednesday.

The team, featuring Wu Dajing, Ren Ziwei, Han Tianyu and Xu Hongzhi, clocked seven minutes 1.983 seconds to stand at the top of the podium. South Korea finished second and Japan took the bronze medal.

The victory was China’s third short track gold at the Games in Sapporo.
The eighth Asian Winter Games features five sports, 11 disciplines and 64 events, attracting around 1,500 participants from 30 countries and regions.
