The River Seine in Paris rose to 5.85 meters early Monday. About 15-hundred people have evacuated across the French capital and surrounding areas. The French weather agency says this December and January have been France's wettest in 50 years. Officials expect a slow clean-up. The Environment ministry says more rain will start on Wednesday, and water levels are expected to stay high for at least another week. The world's most visited museum the Louvre remains on high alert, closing its Islamic arts area to tourists. A main commuter line has halted service at Paris stops until at least February 5th. Expressways alongside the Seine have also been closed.
