Serge Platkovskiy is a Russian who grew up in China. He calls himself one of the benefactors of the Belt and Road Initiative, as it not only connects him back with his native country, but helped him open a business in China as well.
Inspired by President Xi Jinping's speech at the Nazarbayev University in Astana, Kazakhstan, Serge and his partners established a consulting company that caters to the Belt and Road countries.
He has been playing the role of bridge between the countries in this initiative. In his eyes, small-sized companies like his benefit from this policy most, as many new opportunities are brought to them in this framework.‍

During an interview with CGTN's Liu Xin (@thepointwithlx), Serge said the Belt and Road Initiative connects people and cultures more than trade and infrastructure. Trades always happens, but people need to establish relations before sharing opportunities. He said the Belt and Road Initiative is like a vein that allows the spread of the idea to other places, and that opportunity is best when shared.
Serge also points out that his case is not unique, that there are many people like him on the same path... they just don't know yet it is called the Belt and Road Initiative. He says the spirit of the initiative is always there. It's just that there's never been a structure of such support. This is the special part of the Belt and Road Initiative. Everyone can join in and be a part of it.
